What do you think?
As many of you may know, I am a die-hard Nolan Ryan collector...but like other player collector's, i've gotten to a point where it's so hard to find many of the Ryan's I need now. I know I need over 6,000 cards of him, but many of them are oddball, low #'d, GU'd, and AUTO's that most of the time are out of my budget. Maybe if I hit the lotto the "budget" problem won't matter...lol
Now here's one of my newest theory's, which might not be so new to some...What is your opinion on playing the "hobby box" lotto ticket? For example, I need the '95 Upper Deck Gold and the SE Gold...which are inserted 1 in 35 packs, and the Ryan is a long shot...lol. I can find a 1995 Upper Deck hobby box for around $10-$20 on eBay, and have thought about purchasing one every now and then.
Have any collectors out there been so lucky as to set your sites on a hard to pull card, such as the Ryan '95 UD Gold, take a chance and buy a box, and actually pull it??!!?? I just thought i'd throw that out there and see what kind of responses/suggestions I got...PLMK what you think.
