Default Hail to the Chief with Upper Deck’s New ‘Signs of History’ Set

Autograph cut signature cards from every U.S. President began shipping this week

North Las Vegas, NV – (July 2, 2008) – Just in time for the Fourth of July when Americans are feeling their most patriotic, Upper Deck is shipping its “Signs of History” Presidential autograph cut signature exchange cards. These rare exchange cards can be found in varying amounts in 2008 Upper Deck baseball products.

“Some of these cards are really amazing and we believe including them in 2008 Upper Deck baseball releases will make history come alive with collectors,” said Jason Masherah, Upper Deck’s Baseball brand manager. “Every person who pulls one will receive an autograph cut card of a U.S. President, but some lucky collectors will receive dual or quad ‘Signs of History’ cards with multiple Presidential autograph cuts or even cards that include autograph cuts of some First Ladies. It was important to us to have them out before the Fourth of July holiday.”

Those collectors who have pulled these “Signs of History” cards are waiting with bated breath for the mail to arrive each day, and with good cause. With some of the most unique and collectible autograph cards in history reaching the market this week, collectors are in for an exciting holiday.

Gary Mills of Milwaukee, WI, will be receiving one of the most exciting cards in the set: the quad autograph cut Mt. Rushmore card which features autographs of every president carved into the famous landmark in South Dakota. The cards are sent out randomly through Upper Deck’s online software so it would be chosen from the 2008 Upper Deck Premier Baseball release, as was announced earlier.

“I was shocked to hear we would be receiving this card. This is just awesome,” said Mills. “I actually logged it in for one of my best customers so I know he’s going to be thrilled. He’s a big racing and baseball fan who loves going after the high-end chase. I don’t think he’s ever pulled anything like this however and I’m sure he’s going to be blown away.”

Collectors can continue to find these rare “Signs of History” cards in upcoming 2008 Upper Deck baseball releases including MLB Upper Deck Piece of History, MLB Upper Deck Goudey, MLB UD Heroes, MLB UDX and MLB Upper Deck Ballpark Collection.
