Default Upper Deck Apologizes for Printing Error in 2008 Upper Deck Piece of History Baseball

North Las Vegas, NV (June 26, 2008) – Upper Deck would like to apologize for any confusion caused by a printing error in its 2008 Upper Deck Piece of History Baseball exchange cards for limited-edition hair cards. The exchange cards indicate the cards are for a “Hair Cut Signature” card when in fact they are good for only a “Hair Cut” card, but no signature. “Hair Cut Signature” cards were only produced for Upper Deck’s 2008 SP Legendary Cuts Baseball.

No solicitation material indicated “Hair Cut Signature” cards would be featured in this product, only the hair cards of deceased historic personalities. When a collector enters one of the exchange cards online, he or she will see the card is good only for one of the regular “Hair Cuts” card so this was just a simple printing error. Collectors can look for 2008 Upper Deck Piece of History Baseball packs and boxes on store shelves starting Tuesday, July 1.

“We’re just glad we realized the error and still had time to communicate it to collectors before the product hits the market,” said Jason Masherah, Upper Deck’s Baseball Brand manager. “The hair cards feature some extremely unique personalities like Napoleon Bonaparte, Mary Lincoln, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Geronimo, Alexander Hamilton and more.”
