Upper Deck Congratulates Kobe Bryant on Being Named the 2007-08 NBA MVP

Lakers superstar led Upper Deck’s autograph-exclusive NBA lineup to unparalleled successes this year

North Las Vegas, NV (May 9, 2008) – After years of dominating roundball performances, Kobe Bryant has won his first NBA MVP Award. As one of the company’s exclusive spokesmen, Upper Deck would like to commend Bryant for his efforts on and off the court this year. Kobe has endeared himself with collectors not only because he is a force to be reckoned with during games, but because he’s been doing the right things with collectors.

We would also like to congratulate other Upper Deck exclusive spokesmen like LeBron James and Kevin Garnett for tremendous seasons that had them near the top of the MVP voting.”



Collectors looking to capture autographs and game-used memorabilia cards of Upper Deck’s exclusive stable of stars like Bryant, James, Garnett, Michael Jordan and Kevin Durant can find them in 2007-08 NBA Ultimate Collection, which is set to hit the market on May 14. As part of Upper Deck’s continued effort to limit NBA releases for this season, only 4,000 total boxes will be produced of this high-end release. Collectors can expect to find four autograph cards and eight memorabilia cards of the NBA’s best and brightest in every four-pack box.



Upper Deck Authenticated is also in the process of producing a variety of exciting MVP products featuring Kobe Bryant. These should be available a few weeks after Kobe finishes the season and will include special MVP jerseys and basketballs as well as other unique items that include the prestigious “MVP” inscription. A special card set is also being created in 2008-09 NBA MVP to chronicle every game Kobe played in this season with special uncut sheets of the set offered at a premium.
