The Flagship NHL Release for the Year Debuts This Week

Carlsbad, CA – (November 7, 2007) – Loaded with superstars and depth matched by few other classes, the 2007/2008 rookie class for Hockey is not one to be missed. Collectors will have a new shot to add these rookies to their collections when 2007/2008 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey releases on November 9th. Each 8 card pack carries a SRP of just $2.99.



Since becoming the NHL’s sole licensee for trading cards, Upper Deck has made a practice of holding off using late season call-ups. This practice adds value to early season sets by using rookies who can make an immediate impact in the NHL. Some of the most sought after rookies to be included in Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey are Patrick Kane, Carey Price, Marc Staal, Sam Gagner, Jack Johnson and Nicklas Backstrom. Collectors can expect to find six of the Young Gun rookie cards per hobby box on average.



The popular UD Exclusive and High Gloss parallel cards will return to provide chase elements for collectors. Other key drivers for the hobby are the inclusion of the Big Playmakers jersey cards which feature four memorabilia swatches, the very unique die-cut Clear Cut Winners cards and the Signature Sensations Autograph cards. For this release, Upper Deck was able to secure all autograph content prior to launch, so the product will not include any autograph redemption cards.
