Boston Rookie Hurler, Daisuke Matsuzaka is Helping to Drive the Surging Baseball Card Market

Carlsbad, CA – (June 20, 2007) – Every once in a while, a player comes along who galvanizes the card collecting hobby. Such is the case with Boston Red Sox rookie pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka. With his regular cards already performing very well, Upper Deck will be producing game-used jersey cards of him which are anticipated to be some of the most sought after Matsuzaka cards produced this year. The first copies will be inserted into 2007 Upper Deck Series 2 Baseball releasing today.


Besides the chase of the Matsuzaka memorabilia cards, collectors will find plenty of other reasons to collect this set. What was old is new again in the 1989 rookie reprint set which features cards of this years hottest rookies in the popular 1989 Upper Deck design. Rare autograph versions of these cards can also be found randomly inserted into packs.
