2010 Topps UFC Main Event

Special thanks to Topps for this 2010 Topps UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) Main Event review box.

Having been a fan of the Ultimate Fighting Championship since 1995 (back when it was still quite new and very controversial), I was excited to bust open this box of 2010 Topps UFC Main Event. I think Topps does well in capturing the spirit of the UFC in this release, including an in-your-face design along with several exciting autograph and memorabilia sets.

PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS:
Each box contains THREE Memorabilia cards, ONE Autograph card, and ONE Autograph Memorabilia card.

Set Features Quick Breakdown;

Each sealed box contains 24 packs of 8 cards each in a 150 card set. >>> Each box contains THREE Memorabilia cards, ONE Autograph card, and ONE Autograph Memorabilia card. Here's what we pulled in our box of 2010 Topps UFC Main Event.

Base, Insert, and Parallel Cards;

The base set consists of 150 cards, including Debut Fighters (111-140) and WEC Fighters (141-150) subsets. A nice variety of inserts and parallels are included in this release as well. Each pack contains one parallel and one insert. Parallels are of thicker stock than the base and inserts, and Gold is the most common pull. We also pulled a Black parallel (odds for black parallels are 1:24, one per box). The Black parallels are serially numbered out of 188. Insert sets include Fight Poster Review (1:6), Masterpiece/Propaganda (1:6), The Ultimate Fighter (1:3), and Top 10 of '09 (1:3).

Relic Cards;

The relic cards include cage, mat, and clothing pieces. We pulled a super thick Frank Mir cage piece (the bronze parallel version numbered out of 88), a two-color Diego Sanchez mat relic, and a three-color clothing gear relic of Shane Carwin. Topps did an outstanding job on these relic inserts; the Mir in particular is a really great pull.

Autograph Cards;

I like how one regular autograph card and an autograph memorabilia card are included in each standard box. This specific box didn't yield big name fighters, but you can't complain about the odds. Both autographs are of the sticker sort. The memorabilia portion is a clothing gear piece.

Final Thoughts on 2010 Topps UFC Main Event;

I don't think mixed martial arts fans will be disappointed with this product. Not only are you guaranteed autograph and memorabilia hits, but the base and insert sets are fun as well. Additionally, the base cards are well-collated; we pulled a near-complete set with no duplicates. I definitely recommend 2010 Topps UFC Main Event
