Here's what I pulled in our box of 2007 Press Pass VIP NASCAR.

Base Cards;

I really like the dual driver pics on the base cards. There is a normal colored portrait on the front and the background is a black and white (gray) pic version as well. Really high-class looking and balances out the card very nicely. The front of the cards has the Press Pass VIP '07 logo in the upper left hand corner and the drivers name at the bottom (gold nameplate on black). The back of the card gives a short insight into the 2007 season so far for the driver and team.

Rookie Cards;

The rookies are made in the same design as the other base. The only difference is the 2007 Rookie Card logo on the bottom left hand section of the card. I would have liked the base and rookie cards better if the background picture wasn't cut-off at the at the hat line on the cards. I think the full head-shot would have been nicer than the background covering them up. Just my opinion of course.

The (3) rookies we pulled from our box are of;
  • David Gilliland
  • AJ Allmendinger
  • David Reutimann

Insert Cards;

The inserts came very fast and furious in this box. Some nice inserts sets in 2007 Press Pass Vip this year. I particularly like the Gear Gallery Inserts (Foil) and the Parallel clear (trans) version as well. These cards showcase the drivers and their helmets. On the back of the card they show (3) different helmet views. They also list the helmet manufacturer and the helmet designer. Some of the inserts listed are actually part of the base set (noted where appropriate). I wanted to show all of the subsets and I think I accomplished that goal.

Here are the inserts we pulled;
  • (5) Gear Gallery Regular...Gordon, Martin, Jarrett, Gilliland and Busch
  • (2) Gear Gallery Trans...Waltrip and Stewart
  • (15) After Party...Part Of Base Set
  • (2) Trophy Club Regular
  • (1) Trophy Club Clear
  • (9) Red Carpet...Part Of Base Set
  • (7) Power Brokers...Part Of Base Set
  • (10) Sunday Best
  • (13) Suite View...Part Of Base Set
  • (5) Air NASCAR...Part Of Base Set
  • (4) VIP Rides...Part Of Base Set

Race-Used Card;

The Race-Used Rookie Tape card we pulled from our box is of Regan Smith. The card is 062/100. For those of you that don't know; Rookies are required to have yellow racing tape affixed to their rear bumper to identify them as rookies.

Final Thoughts on 2007 Press Pass VIP NASCAR;

This is a real nice effort from Press Pass with a lot of devotion to subsets, inserts and parallels in this product. Very high quality product throughout is the reason this box will get a high passing grade with me.I really liked the Gear Gallery cards and the trans parallels the most from this box. The rookie tape pull was absolutely the best of the box. I would have liked to have seen one autograph and one race-used guaranteed per box and it would be a great value. These boxes can usually be had for between $55 and $69 on most sites that I have checked.

Here's how I would rate this product;
  • Value = 4
  • Innovation = 5
  • Fun and Experience = 5
  • Rebuy Value = 3

I rate this product an "A" for Press Pass!
