Congratulations to Press Pass for releasing a premium high end product. This has been something that the racing collectors have longed for. They did not hold back anything in their effort to bring the collectors a great looking memorabilia and autograph collection this time.

The base set is broken down into four subsets. !st Gear cards are the base set and each has a silver finish and is numbered to 499.

Here's what we pulled:

NSCS Drivers -

#1-27. These are basic cards showing the drivers on todays NASCAR circuit. We pulled 4. Martin Truex Jr, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Clint Bowyer & Jamie McMurray.

Classic Collections -

#28-36. These cards show the teamates from different racing teams. We pulled 1. Red Bull - Brian Vickers/Scott Speed.

Elite Exhibit -

#37-50. This subset features the best of past & present drivers with cards of Richard Petty & Dale Earnhardt Sr. We pulled 3. Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth & Kurt Busch.

Premier Prospects -

#51-53. These feature the rookies of 2009 and unfortunately we didn't get one in our box.

Level 2 - 2nd Gear -

These are numbered to 125 and cards have a gold finish. We pulled 2 of them. Classic Collections - Hendrick Motorsports (Earnhardt Jr, J. Gordon, J. Johnson & M. Martin) & Elite Exhibit - J. Gordon.

Level 3 - 3rd Gear -

These cards are numbered to 50 and the cards have a green finish. We pulled 1. Elite Exhibit - J. Gordon.

Level 4 - 4th Gear -

These cards are number to 15 and are called Melting. The scan doesn't do this card justice. The lettering is made in a prism foil style. We pulled 1. Ryan Newman

Elite Exhibit - Memorabilia-

These are sweet cards featuring 3 pieces of memorabilia (tire, sheet metal & firesuit) of the pictured driver and numbered to 99. We pulled 2. Joey Logano & Jimmie Johnson.

Elite Exhibit Ink -

Here's the big hit. Matt Kenseth #45/45. As always an on-the-card auto!

Final thoughts,

This is a great product for Press Pass racing. A high-end, low numbered offering. If I were to try and put a set together, I would want to try for the 4th Gear set. They are awesome but the draw back is that there are only 15 of each.

I was a little disappointed with the 3 hits. I would have liked to have seen 2 Auto's and 1 Memorabilia in the box. However, when I look at an auction site and see what others have pulled, then I can see the value of this product. There are triple Auto's, oversized Sheet metal, 1 of 1's like race-used sunglasses (redemptions), 50th Anniversary Lithographs, Earnhardt Sr. Auto's & these are inserted at a rate of 1:18 packs. Boxes range anywhere from $225 - 306, with several sites stating that they are sold out. This is a very limited release, so get yours ASAP!

Here's how I would rate this product :
Value = 5
Innovation = 5
Fun and Experience = 5
Rebuy Value = 5
I rate this product an "A+" for Press Pass!

I would like to thank Kirsten at Press Pass along with Trader Retreat for giving me the chance to review this new product.

Great review of a great product, although I agree, it seems pretty expensive for this particular box. Thanks for the great information.

Nice cards, but way overpriced. I know they're trying to do what companies like Upper Deck have done in other sports and put out a beautiful high end product, but I think this falls a bit short. Beautiful cards, just not worth the price tag IMO..

Very nice product, have seen some awesome looking hits thus far. I'm not one that buys boxes, but I may have to pick up a few singles.
