Topps Co-Signers "Review the Review" contest - ENDING TONIGHT 2/14!
Another fun, simple contest brought to you by Trader Retreat and Topps! The winners will receive a nice prize package out of our 07-08 Co-Signers break!
Check out my 07-08 Topps Co-Signers basketball review and just let me know what you think. Did I miss the boat? Was I too harsh, too easy? What do you think about the box we broke, and the product in general?
Staff will decide on 3 winners based on the best comments. Put a little (or a lot of) thought into your answers! We'll take entries for one week - until midnight Central time, Thursday 2/14/08.
Thanks and good luck!

Personally, I'm not a big fan of Topps Co-Signers. Although the idea of a dual auto in each box is a great idea, your box proves the players in the set could be improved. Okafor/Dudley? And that's supposed to be the hit of the box?
As far as the set itself, I personally think the design is kind of bland. I'm a bigger fan of cards like Stadium Club or Upper Deck, with the card representing the entire game, not just the player. I like seeing the background and not just the player. Also, Topps couldn't come up with anything better than a white background? How much thought went into that?
Your RCs were pretty brutal. No Durant, Oden, or any of the other big name rookies. If I pulled that, I would've been disappointed.
The only positive I like from the product is the fact that they have 2 players on a card. It makes it more enjoyable for the player collectors to pursue not only their favorite players cards, but also have someone else on the card to enjoy.
Overall, I think you were too generous in your grade. If I pulled that box, I would've given Topps Co-Signers a C. If I was going to buy a box, Co-Signers would be pretty down on my list.

I've always liked the co-signers cards and do enjoy the look of them. Something different than the other sets out there, but like the poster above, I feel that they need to have some better selection of autos. It's hard to throw down that kind of money for a not so great return.
Great concept, definitely with room for improvement.

I truly believe that this product is hit or miss. Some of the dual autos aren't very good, which was what I thought when I first saw this product. In topps defense though, the odds being 1 dual auto in a box, you pretty much have to put some lower end ones, just to fill up all the boxes. I really like the fact however that they put a rookie auto in with the dual auto, because if you don't hit the dual auto you are looking for, you always have a second chance to pull the big one. I like that there are so many parralells in each box. Unlike Upperdeck, Topps has a lot of parralells that keep the box from being boring, like all those packs of plain base from UD. With so many parralells and also with the two hits, no matter what u get u can always feel like you did at least decent for your money. Not to mention the "big hit" dual auto possibilities with such players as Larry Legend and Magic Johnson. Overall I would give the product a thumbs up. I think you guys wrote an excellent review, by breaking down each category individually including pricing, hits, etc.
