Upper Deck Redemption/Customer Service question

I just got off the phone with UD's customer service dept. regarding a redemption I have yet to recieve after 1 1/2 years (Yao Ming SPGU auto /25)and I asked for a replacement since it has been so long. They asked me for a list of players to choose from so I said Lebron, Bill Russell, Alexander Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby. The guy said OK, i should receive something within 4 weeks.
My question is, are they really going to replace a Ming with a Lebron or one of the other players I mentioned? It sure sounded like they were implying that would happen.
Can anybody who's had a similar experience with a replacement give me some info?

i had a similar situation with them about 5 years ago and asked for kobe. they flat said no. next magic johnson and again i got no. i would probably call back and ask them what they have to offer of certain players they would consider equal value and actual pick and confirm a card with them on the phone. they will do that. you may get no to cetain players but at least it is not a waiting game wondering what it will be. hope that helps

I had a similar situation happen. I actually sent in to replace a packaging-damaged card that was serial numbered. They asked me what players I collected, I told them, but I received the card I sent in. So they actually reprinted the card. Now, this would be hard to do with an auto, so I'm not sure what will happen.

i asked the guy what i could choose from and he just told me to give him some players i'd like. i asked if they'd send me lebron and he told me, yeah but it won't be out of 25 i could end up with something out of 250. fingers are crossed for a lebron or ovechkin. i totally forgot about kobe.

I am also waiting for a 04-05 SPSE auto Same Cassell for almost 1 year , also my 05-06 SPGU Auto Jersey S.Pippen for over 1 month

(already not counting other cards waiting for several months with no updates)

If u got any good news , pls keep us informed

Keep us updated on this. I just sent in a Travis Deiner spx auto/jersey that was 2 months ago. Last year had 2 auto redemptions one took 2 weeks and the other just under a month. Hope they at least send you a superstar and not some nobody that books the same as the ming!
