Default Upper Deck’s The Cup Runneth Over With Amazing Hits For Hockey Collectors

Two Signed Patch Cards In Every Tin – On Average; At Least One Patch Will Be A Rookie Card

CARLSBAD, CA – (July 13, 2006) – Collectors of high-end hockey cards who have been clamoring for something exquisite for years can rejoice as their comments have been heard loud and clear by Upper Deck. Collectors can now breathe easier as The Cup prepares to land on store shelves in late July. Upper Deck’s 2005-06 The Cup Hockey will be the icing on the cake for what has become the Year of the Rookie, a year in which many impact newcomers made their on-ice debuts, including Sidney Crosby, Alexander Ovechkin, Dion Phaneuf and Henrik Lundqvist.

“This past season saw a renewed passion for hockey cards, along with many rule changes, the 2005-06 campaign made for a great year for the sport,” said Josh Zusman, Hockey Brand Manager for Upper Deck. “The Cup has been widely speculated for months and now we are proud to let collectors see what will become the best high-end hockey product on the market. We have carefully managed the print runs to ensure the highest long-term collectibility and value for the consumer.”

The Cup Hockey will be delivered in a custom metal embossed tin. In addition, collectors will enjoy chasing autographed rookie patches numbered to 99, or collecting cards featuring the greats of yesteryear with the Legendary Cuts cards or a stalwart in other Upper Deck products, the Dual Signed Logo cards. I don't trade cards at "book value" anymore - those prices are ridiculous. I swap cards for the fun of it for my wants/needs to satisfy both traders.

Sounds frickin sweet...but I don't like the sound of 'Thousands of 1-of-1 cards'. I remember when 1/1s were actually scarce...and 1/1 was meaningful. This is getting crazy. (like those boxes that have a 1/1 a box - big play for nba has that i think - that ruins it)....anyways, im gonna stop rambling.

can't wait to see their designs and see how much these sell for!
would love to get a tin that has the 3 autos in it ~ 'Selected tins contain a third autographed card!'

Yeah, I agree. Will be neat to see how much they go for. And the meaning of a 1/1 has definitely changed.
