Here's what we pulled in our box of 2010-11 Panini Luxury Suite Hockey.

Rookie Cards;

The rookie cards are perfect and a nice change of pace. The thickness of the cards is around 2 mils. A still shot and an action shot of the player showcase the front of the cards. Most of the cards show the player in a home and then in an away jersey, which is different (nice).The faint rookie tag runs vertical and doesn't detract from the rest of the card by pulling you automatically to it. The bronze/copper Luxury Suite logo is in the center keeps the card nicely balanced. The rookie /899 we pulled are;
  • Korbinian Holzer
  • Rob Klinkhammer
  • Jonas Holos
  • Mark Dekanich

Game-Used Cards;

The jersey/patch cards are great as they are all game-worn and mean more to most collectors. The first four listed are the same thickness as the rookie cards. The next two are around 3 mils in thickness. The jersey cards for hockey always seem to be better than other sports for some reason.

Here's a list of what we pulled;
  • Dustin Byfuglien (blue) /599
  • Matt Duchene (maroon) /599
  • Khabibulin/Dubnyk (blue/white) /599
  • Schenn/Phaneuf (blue/white) /599
  • Patrice Bergeron (jersey/stick) /100
  • Paul Stastny (number/stick) /50

Autographed Cards;

The autographed cards we pulled are of Zach Boychuk and Jacob Markstrom. Both autographs are superb in condition and without bubbling or breaks. Nicely centered on the cards and totally in the are provided for the autograph. The autographs are all oncard and that is always a plus with me. I like that Boychuk added his number to the signature as that looks great always. The only problem I have is that the Boychuk is the only card in the box not numbered. I would of liked to have seen these numbered as well.

Final Thoughts on 2010-11 Panini Luxury Suite Hockey;

2010-11 Luxury Suite Hockey is a great mid-to-high product from Panini. Products like these are going to convert me into a Hockey fan! You get (12) hits in the box guaranteed if you include the rookie cards. All of the cards are high-quality in my book. The patches/jersey cards could have been either lower numbered or at least get a parallel in the box, instead of the /599. Overall the product fills a void in the marketplace and should be a big hit. There is no reason to pass on this if you are a hockey fan...why pay around the same price and get one autographed jersey and one game-used card in a box.

The autographed cards as stated above are great in design. I would have liked the have seen another autograph or two for the suggested MSRP though. This is a hot product right now, so get them before they're gone if you are thinking about it.

These boxes can usually be had for between $130 and $180 on most sites that I have checked. The $130 was on ebay.

Here's how I would rate this product;
  • Value = 5
  • Innovation = 5
  • Fun and Experience = 5
  • Rebuy Value = 5
I rate this product an "A" for Panini!

Great review of a very solid product. The hits are excellent and the variety is very good, especially for the game used. Any high end collectors should go out and get this product.
