This year the base card checklist has been expanded to 200 cards including two new subsets: One Game Wonders and Women In The Net. The autograph card checklist is one of the largest ever featuring hobby favorites along with some new additions to BTP, namely; Bob Sauve, Chico Resch, Cesare Maniago, Darren Pang, Pokey Reddick, John Garrett, Frank Pietrangelo, Kelly Hrudey, Murray Bannerman, Mike Vernon and Steve Penney.

Each box of 2010-11 Between The Pipes contains 18 packs with 9 cards per pack! This year's Between The Pipes features an amazing base card set, Game-Used Memorabilia cards and Authentic GoalieGraphs cards inserted 1:8 packs*. Back this year are the Non-Memorabilia insert sets featuring Masked Men III and the continuation of the year-long celebration - 100 Years of Card Collecting, all inserted 1:8 packs*. The He Shoots - He Saves Redemption Program is back where collectors can redeem 200 points for limited, game-used memorabilia cards not available in packs.

Here's what we pulled in our box of 2010-11 ITG Between The Pipes Hockey.

Base and Insert Cards;

Compared to Heroes and Prospects and last years BTP, this set will be harder to complete and may take several boxes or alot of swapping. We did not pull any doubles in this box which in itself is encouraging to complete the set. Because of it being a 200 card set instead of the 150 like last year, is the reason it will be more difficult to complete. The base cards are a very nice design and the design carries throughout the entire 200 base set.

"He Shoots, He Saves" Between The Pipes redemption cards can be found inserted in all packs of 2010-11 Between The Pipes except those that contain memorabilia cards. Every "He Shoots, He Saves" redemption card is worth one point. Once you accumulate 200 redemption points, you are eligible to receive a special game-used memorabilia card not available in packs.

Between The Pipes "He Shoots, He Saves" redemption cards CANNOT be combined with "He Shoots, He Saves" redemption cards from other In The Game brands.

Redemption points may be redeemed for special Between The Pipes "He Shoots, He Saves" game-used memorabilia cards. Each will feature a swatch of game-worn memorabilia from the players listed on the checklist below. There will be 30 of these special Between the Pipes game-used memorabilia cards and each will be individually hand-numbered out of 20. These cards will be sealed in In The Game memorabilia card holders.

The Masked Men inserts are explained as an error in the emerald version that we pulled.

* IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT MASKEN MEN III CARDS

We are pained to announce an error on the backs of the Mask Men III cards.

There are three different colored versions of each Masked Men III card.

The Gold version (10 of each inserted), the Silver version (100 of each inserted) and the Emerald (340 of each inserted).

Unfortunately, the Emerald version has 1/1 on the back of card and this is not the case. There are 340 of each Emerald card inserted.

We apologize profusely for this error, we strive to make errorless products and somehow this mistake slipped through the cracks.

"I guess no one is perfect" said Dr. Brian H. Price, President of In The Game, Inc. "but we sure try to be and this bothers me a great deal. I personally apologize to all collectors for this error."

In The Game : 2010-11 Between the Pipes : Masked Men III Checklist

Game-Used Cards;

We pulled a plain red jersey of Patrick Roy Between the Pipes Leaders (Most shots faced). On the back it explains that he has faced more rubber than any goaltender in league history as 28,353 shots have been fired his way. This is the Silver versionof the card and numbered L-06. The other game used we pulled are o plain red jersey of Chris Osgood (black version) and a Semyon Varlamov 2 colored with seam (Gold version).

Autographed Cards;

The lone autographed card we pulled from this box is of Calvin Pickard. He played for the Seattle Thunderbirds in 2010. He also played for the victorious Team Cherry squad at the 2010 CHL Top Prospects Game. Nice quality autograph that seemingly looks oncard but it is a sticker. It blends well and since the sticker is almost invisible it looks great.

Final Thoughts on 2010-11 ITG Between The Pipes Hockey;

2010-11 ITG Between The Pipes is a solid buy for the price ($89), at the lowest price point we could find. We were looking for (2) autographs in the box, but we got (3) game-used instead. Of course we would have preferred the 2nd auto, but the last game-used pulled was the GOLD and it is a great piece. Of course we pulled (2) of the emerald masked men and thought we had some 1/1s.

Hopefully, we get something in exchange for them down the road from ITG.

The set will be hard to complete as it has expanded to 200 cards from the 150 of last year. But, still a worthwhile set to complete.

I have never opened a box of Between The Pipes before and was surprised that the entire theme was goalie induced. I really like the idea and the concept of Between The Pipes. This is a hot product right now, so the prices aren't that different online or in the LCS.

These boxes can usually be had for between $89 and $105 on most sites that I have checked.
