Previous Feedback: 150 My Card Inventory

Default Question...

I have a rather large Vince Carter collection that I'm looking to sell. Nearly 700 cards, about half of which are various inserts and whatnot. On top of that, there are about 20 GU, an autograph, at least one copy of nearly every one of his RCs, etc. Then there are various other collectables (pennants, beanie babies, mcfarlane figures, various clippings from magazines and promotional items, etc).

My question is this: what is the best way to move a lot of this sort? Should I attempt to do so on a tradesite, or should I post the lot on eBay? If I post it on eBay, should I post it as one large lot? Should I sell a large number of smaller lots? Should I put all of the inserts in a lot, all of the base cards in a lot, all of the RCs in a lot, all of the GU in a lot, and so forth? Should I break the inserts and base cards into lots of 15-20? 50? 100?

In short, if you were holding a lot like this that you were looking to move...how exactly would you go about selling it?

It could go either way if you do it piece by piece or as a lot.

Someone may be interested in a decent VC lot while someone may need 1 or 2 cards but not the rest and dont want to get the whole lot.

Me personally, if i wanted to blow stuff out id do it 1 card at a time and start it at .01 and let it ride.

It depends on whether your in need of quick cash and looking to get rid of asap or not. If you have some time I would do this.

First post on here and see what you can sell, after a week or so then you can ebay them.

If you have a lot of time to wait I'd wait for one of those cheap listing days on ebay ($0.10 I believe). I'd then sell anything worth anything individually and put the base/inserts in lots.

Well that's the thing...not too much of it is worth anything individually. I mean, there's an autograph here, a patch card there...but for the most part it's just middle-end RCs and GU, which don't fetch all that much individually, really.

I'd list it on Ebay as a lot but I'd wait for a cheap listing day and set a price that you feel is fair. Take offers while it's on Ebay and see what you can get for it. If you can't sell it at the price you listed put it back on and start it at .01 cents and see where it ends up at.

I'd also promote it on as many sites as possible.

One advantage of listing smaller lots and indivisual mid-range cards is postage. You can charge a 1.50 shipping and still make a bit of money. A quarter per lot profit on shipping over the course of 100 lots is 25 bucks.. lots of things I could be happy buying for 25 bucks... plus with his recent resurgence his popularity is on the upswing
