Ripping DVD's to an iPod?
Anyone know if you can do this and how?

Yes. You can either purchase a program or use a free download such as those on cnet to copy from your recordable dvd player to the itouch. I have done it, but the amount of time to transfer from the dvr to the dvd to the computer to the ipod is aggravating at times.

To elaborate...I mean those tv programs that can be recorded to a dvd.

Personally, I use Cucusoft. It has a demo version(leaves a small "demo version" block in the center of image, or buy the "full" version(mine was $40). The program takes about 1/2 the time of the movie to "download" onto your computer, but is very easy to use and understandable. Quality is pretty good, but you can only save it to a certain quality before it saves it in 2 files(which isn't really a big deal, but kind of a pain to not be able to watch in 1 sitting). Hope this helps.
