Default 2008 Topps Letterman Football

2008 Topps Letterman Football

2008 Topps Letterman Football is a nice higher-end product. The 2008-09 Topps Letterman Basketball was big hit from what I can see, and this is basically the same design carryover.

Here's what we pulled in our pack of 2008 Topps Letterman Football.

Base & Rookie Cards;

The 2008 Topps Letterman Football logo is in the lower LH quadrant of the card of the card. The only other things on the front are the players last name and their team name. Superb foilboard chrome technology at its best. The players photos are placed over larger photos of the same pose and sort of looks like maybe a highlight reel type of effect. Done in the teams colors this looks great! The only problem on these cards is the slight bow in them because of the stock and technology used. They remind me of the Topps Finest and Topps Chrome products.

All of the information from Topps states that veterans should be numbered out of /1499, but the Peterson and the Owens are numbered out of /949. The back of the cards has the normal short bio and some highlights from 2007 along with the players 2007 stats at the bottom.

The rookie we pulled from our pack is of Glenn Dorsey of the Kansas City Chiefs. It is the parallel xfractor version of this rookie and is numbered out of /25.

Letterman Pull;

The Letterman we pulled is of one of the HOTTEST rookie running backs in the NFL. Matt Forte is our pull and the Letterman is a refractor numbered out of /6. Very nicely designed and laid out card. The card looks tons better inhand than in the scan I have here.

Final Thoughts on 2008 Topps Letterman Football;

2008 Topps Letterman Football is a higher priced, high-quality sports card product. You can usually find these boxes in the $133 to $169 price range on sites I have checked. Packs can be had for around $48 to $55 as well. If you get the entire box you have a great chance to get some nice rebuy value. If you get the non-autographed pack like we had in this break there is very little chance for getting your rebuy value in my opinion. You probably could on the Forte we pulled, but on some other rookies you may not. Having said that, this is still a great box buy product for the fan who has a budget that can afford it. For the collector that doesn't want alot of base cards to store...this could be the box you've been looking for!!! Every card in the 4 card mini-box is pictured in this review.

Here's how I would rate this product;
  • Value = 4
  • Innovation = 5
  • Fun and Experience = 4
  • Rebuy Value = 5
I rate this product an "A" for Topps!
