Here's what I pulled in our box of 2008 SP Rookie Threads:

Base Set

The base cards are sharp looking, with great team colors bordering the bottom of the card. We received 15/100 base card set, so this set will be tough to get together just on the base cards alone!

Memorabilia Cards

Our Rookie Super Swatch card was of Matt Ryan, a beautiful card with an oversize swatch of jersey numbered /25. We also pulled a trio threads card of Brian Brohm, John David Booty and Chad Henne numbered /100. We pulled two Flashback Fabrics, Brady Quinn /115 and Calvin Johnson /200. Our Rookie Threads cards were Kevin Smith and Mario Manningham both numbered /250. The Rookie Numbers inserts were of Andre Caldwell /87 - two different colored swatches, and Glenn Dorsey /75 - three colored patch.

Autographed Cards

Our Autographed cards consisted of a Ray Rice Scripted in Time /230, a Fred Davis SP Authentic /249 and a Dual auto of Chad Henne and John David Booty /99.

Autographed Memorabilia/Letterman Cards

Our Autographed memorabilia cards or Letterman cards consisted of a Jake Long “L” for Long /62 and a Fred Davis “J” for Trojans 2/7!

Final Thoughts on 2008 SP Rookie Threads:

This is a very nice product for those looking for some nice cards and wanting some potential for a great “hit”. These boxes can usually be had for around $230-250 on some sites that I have checked. While it is a bit expensive for a pack of cards, you do get some bang for your buck.

Here's how I would rate this product;
Value = 5
Innovation = 5
Fun and Experience = 5
Re-buy Value = 4

I rate this product an "A" for Upper Deck! I enjoyed some of the nice hits, I would have liked a complete base set, but overall a lot of fun to open and some great cards to collect and trade.

NPN Information - one entry per person, go to the website npn.upperdeck.com and register for a chance to get an insert card.

THANKS to Upper Deck, as well as the TR network, for allowing me to review this product. Items from this box break will be given out to TR members in various contests as well as trader of the month prizes.
