Default 2008 Topps Chrome Football

2008 Topps Chrome Football

It's time for one of the most collected sets of the year. Toops Chrome Football has been a collector favorite since it was first produced. With a price around $75-80 per box it's a mid range product with at least 1 rookie card per pack and 1 rookie autograph per box on average. This year Topps made a change, instead of the white border that was on the Topps cards, Topps Chrome has black borders.

Here's the odds:

Each sealed box contains 24 packs of 4 cards each in a 275 card set including 110 Rookies 1:2 and 50 Autograph Rookies 1:24 (also White Refractor parallel > #`d to 50). >>> Each box contains TWELVE Rookie cards, ONE Autograph Rookie card, and ONE box loader parallel card. Parallel sets: Refractor, Copper (#`d to 699), Red (#`d to 25), SuperFractor (each is a 1-of-1), and Framed Printing Plates (each is a 1-of-1). Inserts: Box Loader 1:box (#`d Gold Refractor, Gold SuperFractor Autograph > #`d to 10, and Framed Autograph Printing Plates > each is a 1-of-1). Inserts: Ring of Honor, Hall of Fame, Brett Favre Collection, NFL Dynasties Tribute (Refractor, White > #`d to 199, Red > #`d to 100, Red > #`d to 10, and SuperFractor > each is a 1-of-1), NFL Honor Roll Military Salute, and Autograph cards (Signature Series and Tom Brady Tribute > #`d to 50).

Here's what I pulled:

Box Topper - Tony Scheffler #/199

Base cards

Refractors - 5 - White, Boller, Cooley, Gore & Postseason Highlights Seahawks.

Rookies - 27

Rookie Refractors - 4 - S. Slaton, T. Laws, O. Schmitt & E. Ainge

Copper Refractor - Pro Bowl Marion Barber III #/425

Honor Roll - 4 - R. Bleier, C. Bednarik, N. Van Brocklin & T. Fears

Hall of Fame - 3 - F. Dean, A. Tippett & A. Monk

Super Bowl MVP

Flight to 420 - 6

NFL Dynasties - 4 - L. Milloy, T. Brady, T. Johnson & T. Brady

Rookie Autograph - Justin Forsett

Final thoughts
As I said, this is one of the best mid range products produced. With the average cost per box jumpingto $100+, it's nice to see a set that is reasonable for kids to collect. I personally want to thank the Topps company for giving us collectors a great looking product with a very nice price every year. There are a lot of inserts in this and my favorite is the Honor Roll set. The refractors are sweet! The Black border just sets off the refractor look. When you add all of this with 1 Rookie Auto, it tends to be a great value.

Here's how I would rate this product:
• Value = 5
• Innovation = 4
• Fun and Experience = 5
• Rebuy Value = 4

I Rate this Product A-
