Stadium Club Football is back! 2008 Topps Stadium Club Football has made its' return to the card market after some years absence. It defintely fills a void for a higher-end, but medium priced, quality break.
Set Features;

Here's what we pulled in our (5) packs of 2008 Topps Stadium Club Football.
Base and Parallel Cards;
The 2008 Topps Stadium Club Football logo is in the lower left hand corner, and looks very similar to the 1991 logo. In 1991, the logo was bigger and was gold. Most of the base cards have a silver version of the logo for 2008. The rest of the bottom of the card contains the rest of the pertinent information we are used to seeing on a card. The bottom border is the same prominent color of the teams jersey. This really makes it easy to look for your favorite team in a stack of cards. There is a nice short bio on the back along with a section called ALL-OUT BLITZ, where it list some interesting information about the specific player from either 2007 or possibilities in 2008 for that player.
The (4) 1st day issue cards we pulled are of Terrell Owens (Cowboys), Justin Fargas (Raiders), Matt Hasselbeck (Seahawks) and Jamal Lewis (Browns). All of these are numbered to /1499.
We also pulled a GOLD Photographers Proof of Maurice Jones-Drew. This card is numbered out of /50.
Rookie and Parallel Cards;
The rookie cards are of the exact same design as the base and have the rookie designation on the bottom left center of the card. You get (1) rookie base or parallel per pack. Our (4) base rookies are of; Mario Manningham (Giants), Jake Long (Dolphins), Earl Bennett (Bears) and Ray Rice (Ravens). These cards are numbered out of /1799. We also pulled a Photographers Proof of Martellus Bennett. This card is numbered out of /199.
Game-Used Cards (5) Per Box;
We pulled (2) game-used cards in our (5) packs.
The (2) game used we pulled are of Jonathan Stewart (rookie) of the Carolina Panthers, and Eli and Peyton Manning of the N.Y. Giants and Indianapolis Colts respectively. The two brothers with a Super Bowl ring each.
The autographs are of the same design as the base rookie cards. The only difference is an autographed cut out area. The autographed rookie cards we pulled are of Jonathan Stewart of the Carolina Panthers (must be a JS box), Jerod Mayo of the New England Patriots and DeSean Jackson of the Philadelphia Eagles. The autographs are very high-quality, without any bubbling or breaks, and they all are complete autographs that fit nicely in the little window provided. No cut-off autographs is always a big plus with me.
Final Thoughts on 2008 Topps Stadium Club Football;
It's great to see Topps Stadium Club back in the mix. I have to admit, when I first heard about it via E-mail release, I was a bit skeptical as to whether Topps could pull off a comeback of this nature. But, rest assured, Topps came through in a big way with this release. The guaranteed (5) autographs and (5) game-used per box really pushed this release over the edge. I will be getting some of these boxes in the near future and try my luck at pulling some rookie of the year candidates. These boxes can usually be had for between $110 and $145 on most sites that I have checked. I have seen them at $160 at a recent card show I attended. If you can get them in the $110 range, it's a great buy!
