Default 2007 Topps Performance Football

2007 Topps Performance Football

2007 Topps Performance Football seems to be a really nice product from Topps in the medium price range with the possibility of great rewards (3 autographed cards). If you don't want a lot of base cards, this box could be the one you are looking for.

Set Features;

Each sealed box contains 1 pack of 15 cards each in a 150 card set including 50 Rookies (#`d to 999). >>> Each PACK contains TWO Rookie cards, TWO Autograph cards, and ONE Autograph Memorabilia card. Parallel sets: Bronze (#`d to 199), Silver (#`d to 50), and Gold (#`d to 10). Inserts: Autograph cards 2:1 (Breakout, parallels: Bronze > #`d to 50, Silver > #`d to 25, Gold > #`d to 5; Triple Signatures > #`d to 5; Rookie variation, parallels: Bronze > #`d to 50, Silver > #`d to 25, Gold > #`d to 5; Hall of Fame: Single > #`d to 20, Dual > #`d to 10, and Cut > each is a 1-of-1), Memorabilia cards 1:1 (Breakout > #`d to 50, parallels: Bronze > #`d to 25, Silver > #`d to 10, Gold > #`d to 5; Rookie variation > #`d to 30, parallels: Bronze > #`d to 50, Silver > #`d to 25, Gold > #`d to 5; and Skill: QB > #`d to 60, parallels: Bronze > #`d to 50, Silver > #`d to 25, Gold > #`d to 5; RB > #`d to 60, parallels: Bronze > #`d to 50, Silver > #`d to 25, Gold > #`d to 5, and WR > #`d to 60, parallels: Bronze > #`d to 50, Silver > #`d to 25, Gold > #`d to 5), and Autograph Memorabilia cards 1:1 (Hall of Fame: Single > #`d to 20, Dual > #`d to 10, and Quad > #`d to 10; Rookie variation, parallels: Bronze > #`d to 50, Silver > #`d to 25, Gold > #`d to 5; Triple > #`d to 5, Rookie Logo > each is a 1-of-1, Dual Rookie Logo > each is a 1-of-1, and Rookie Printing Plates > each is a 1-of-1).

EVERY PACK CONTAINS:
  • 1 autographed Relic card
  • 2 autographed cards
  • 2 numbered rookie cards
  • 1 Relic card numbered to 60 or less inserted 1 in every 2 pack
  • LOOK FOR 1 sequentially numbered Adrian Peterson autographed base card variation per 16-box case guaranteed!

Here's what we pulled in our box of 2007 Topps Performance Football.

Base and Parallel Cards;

The 2007 Topps Performance Football logo is in either the upper left or hand corner, the players name is at the top and the position on the bottom. A real simple design that is very eye appealing. The bio is short, but lists all of the particulars needed. There is a section called "Impact and Emergence" that describes when the player took the step to become a great player.

The Shaun Alexander is numbered to /50, so it's the Silver version.

Rookie Cards;

The rookie cards are of the exact same design as the base and have the rookie designation on the right hand side at the top. You get two rookie base or parallel cards in every pack. The LaMarr Woodley is numbered out of /359 and the Ted Ginn Jr. is the GOLD version numbered 01/10.

Autographed Cards (3) Per Box/Pack;

The autographs are of the same design, and come nicely protected in the center of the pack. The autographed rookie cards we pulled are of David Harris of the New York Jets and James Jones of the Green Bay Packers. The autographed jersey card is of rookie Laurent Robinson of the Altanta Falcons. This Laurent Robinson card is the SILVER version numbered 21/25. I would have liked to have seen a larger jersey swatch on this card, but the design in my opinion, wouldn't allow for it.

Final Thoughts on 2007 Topps Performance Football;

This is another hit for Topps in the mid-range market with the possibility of great return. The (3) autographs guaranteed per box is a great selling feature of this box. The quality of this box leads me to believe that Topps is really taking quality very serious. The 5 rating for innovation stems from the HITS being placed in the center of the pack. These boxes can usually be had for between $76 and $119 on most sites that I have checked. If you can get them for the lower end of the scale listed above, it's a great buy in my opinion.

Here's how I would rate this product;
  • Value = 5
  • Innovation = 4
  • Fun and Experience = 5
  • Rebuy Value = 5
I rate this product an "A" for Topps! There is definitely value to be had in these boxes.
