Default 2007 Donruss Threads Football

2007 Donruss Threads Football

2007 Donruss Threads Football...always a hot product from Donruss. One of the premiere products on the market today! Some very nice subsets in this top-of-the-line football product.

Set Features;

Each sealed box contains 24 packs of 5 cards each in a 225 card base set including 75 Rookies. >>> Each box contains TWO Rookie cards and FOUR Memorabilia and/or Autograph cards. Parallel sets: Century Proof (Bronze > #`d to 250, Silver > #`d to 100, Gold > #`d to 50, and Platinum > #`d to 25) and Rookie Class Autograph (#`d to 240 or less). Inserts: Threads Jersey, Materials Memorabilia cards (Century Collection, Generations, Century Stars, Century Legends, Dynasty, Rookie Collection Signature, College Greats Signature Combos, and Gridiron Kings (Pro Materials and College Signatures > #`d to 500 or less).

Here's what we pulled in our box of 2007 Donruss Threads Football.

Base Cards;

The base cards have a simple; yet classic look to them. The front of the cards is somewhat plain, but I really like the look and design of them. On the bottom is all of the pertinent information, including; players name, team and Donruss 2007 Threads logo. The back of the card in a short bio, has the players height, weight, DOB, round drafted and college attended. Also on the back is a highlight from the 2006 season for each player. At the extreme bottom are the 2006 player stats along with the career totals.

Rookie Cards;

Featuring the top newcomers of the 2007 NFL rookie class, the subset is spotlighted on double rainbow film board. The two rookies we pulled are Jarvis Moss of the Buffalo Bills and Sabby Piscitelli of the Tampa Bay Bucs. Both cards are serial #’d to 999. The rookie designation is located on both sides of the Donruss Threads logo.

Insert Cards and Parallels;

The inserts and parallels are very plentiful in this box of 2007 Donruss Threads Football. A couple of the highlights of the insert pulls were the Bronze Century Proofs of Marcedes Lewis and Alge Crumpler and the Gold Century Proof of Joe Horn. Here is a listing of what we pulled from this box;
  • (5) Gridiron Kings (Romo/Henry/Maroney/Henderson/Russell)
  • (3) Holographic Foil cards (Lewis...250/Crumpler...250/Horn...50)
  • (2) Century Stars (Dunn/Harrison)
  • (1) Dynasty (Jaguars) (Leftwich/Taylor/Jones-Drew)
  • (1) Generations (Singletary/Merriman)
  • (1) Century Legends (Manning)

Game Used Cards;

The three game-used we pulled are;
  • Rookie Collection Materials Robert Meachum /500 (Saints)
  • Century Legends Prime Materials Shaun Alexander /25 (Seahawks)
  • Dynasty Materials LT/Rivers/Gates /250 (Chargers)
The game-used we pulled are all real nice pieces. The Meachum is great because he's a good rookie prospect, The Alexander is good because it's a nice low numbered piece and the Dynasty Chargers card has three of the best players at their respective positions on the card.

Autograph Card;

The other premium card we pulled was an autographed rookie card of Victor Abiamiri /200 of the Eagles. The autograph is clean, without breaks or bubbling. I like Donruss going to the clear stickers on this set as I have a Colston from last year with the regular sticker and it doesn't look as good as this card does.

Final Thoughts on 2007 Donruss Threads Football;

The is a high quality great designed set that has some great subsets to collect. I really like the look of the Gridiron Kings set this year and the Dynasty triple was a great card to pull. The parallel set on the holographic foil are some really nice cards to pull. Especially if you can pull a card of a player or team you follow. These boxes can usually be had for between $68 and $86 on most sites that I have checked.

Here's how I would rate this product;
  • Value = 5
  • Innovation = 4
  • Fun and Experience = 5
  • Rebuy Value = 4

I rate this product an "A" for Donruss! There is definitely value to be had in these boxes as compared to some other new products on the market. Of course I would have liked to have pulled a big name rookie autograph, but the break was a satisfying one.

I would like to thank Scott and Mike from Donruss and Trader Retreat for giving me the chance to review this new product. Cards from this break will be added to the Prize Gallery and be available for prizes for contests in the near future.
