Here's what I pulled in our box of 2010 Topps Football.

Base Cards;

The 262 card base set features a glossy in action or posed photo with the Topps logo in the upper left hand corner. The team logo and name is located on the bottom right corner of the card. The player’s name is highlighted in silver on the bottom of the card and the player's position is located directly below the name. Another nice feature of the set is the first team All Pros these cards feature a nice 2010 All Pro shield on the front of the card. We also pulled several of the 32 NFL team cards, the Tom Brady MVP and Sam Bradford Rookie of the Year cards. In our box we pulled 231 of the 262 cards in the set with no duplication or 88% of the complete Veteran set. Also pictured above is the gold variation numbered to 2011 and we pulled 3 veteran gold variations in our box.

Inserts;

This year’s release of Topps is loaded with insert sets and parallels. In our box we pulled several nice ones including several TOPPSTOWN codes and Super Bowl Legends Giveaway codes for a chance to win some outstanding Super Bowl replica items. In our box we pulled these:

10 GAME DAY Cards

6 TOPPSTOWN.COM

9 FACES OF THE FRANCHISE

6 Super Bowl Legends Inserts

7 Super Bowl Legends Giveaway Codes

12 1950 BOWMAN Cards

Rookie Cards;

The rookie cards in this year’s release are similar in design to the other cards in the base set. This release is loaded with rookies 110 to be exact. In our box we pulled 76 of the rookies or 69%. We pulled all of the bigger names with the exception of Cam Newton. Also pictured above is the Black rookie variation number to 55, which was the only Black variation we pulled.

Relic Card;

Our Game Used pull was from the Game Day subset. We definitely pulled a nice piece from an upcoming star. The card features a white jersey piece and the back of the card lists his statistics from his breakout game against Kansas City on 10/11/2009. As a Cowboy fan I remember that day well, Miles pulled in 10 receptions for 250 yards and 2 touchdowns. The final catch was a 60-yard walk off touchdown catch 7:38 into overtime.

Final Thoughts on 2011 Topps Football;

The release of 2011 Topps Football comes out in time to finally kick off the NFL season and the collecting season for football hobbyists. After much posturing and negotiating the NFL season will be played and we can get back to collecting and watching our game on Sunday afternoons. As usual Topps puts out an affordable product that will appeal to all collectors. The product can usually be found at a retail price of $45 - $50. This release provides the opportunity to pull an awesome rookie premier or a new Super Bowl Piece, and will be appealing to set builders and rookie collectors. Given it’s suggested retail price it does not exclude the younger collectors or those on tighter collecting budget. I really enjoyed the design of the Toppstown.com cards and the Super Bowl Legends insert sets. It will be interesting to see the Giveaway program items hit the market. I'm sure many collectors will be after these redemption codes and the chance to win some outstanding one of a kind replica Super Bowl collectibles. It will also be interesting to see how the rookie market heats up given the abbreviated off-season and lack of normal exposure. With 2011 Topps Football you are guaranteed a fun break, a great selection of rookies and one relic or autograph per box.

Nice review. I always enjoy the design of the base cards. Topps also offers a nice variety of inserts and parallels. I wish you got more than one hit per box though.

The one thing I always love about the base Topps set is the inclusion of so many rookies that don't always make the other sets.

Well done!

Great review of a solid box. The product has a good variety of different types of cards, and the Miles Austin card looks very good.
