Here's what we pulled in our box of 2010 Panini Absolute Memorabilia Football.

Base + Parallel Cards;

I love the design with the superb action shots of the veteran. The foil board used for this set is spectacular as well. You should be able to tell that the Jacobs base has a gold bottom and that will set of your base set. The Marshall has a designation as Spectrum on what seems to be a silver bottom and it's numbered out of /50. The front simply has the players name and team on the right hand side and the Absolute Memorabilia logo on the bottom left. The back has a short bio along with interesting information about the player. Here's what the Brandon Marshall card says;

Things are about to heat up even more in Miami with the arrival of Marshall. A receptions factory, Marshall pulled in at least 100 catches in each of the last three seasons in Denver and 23 TDs in that stretch. The Dolphins' passing attack gets an instant power surge with Marshall.

Rookie and Rookie Parallel Cards;

The rookies are of the same design, but have the Rookie designation on the right hand side too. The three rookies we pulled are all numbered out of /299. They include Charles Scott of the Eagles, Myron Lewis of the Buccaneers and Marc Mariani of the Titans.

Memorabilia Cards;

Here is where I think we did the best on the break. The Clinton Portis three colored jersey is a must have for a Portis collector. Hey come on a Redskin on a ground hoggs card and three colored to boot and numbered out of /50. The Titans card would have been really sweet with more multi-colored jersey pieces I think. The Justin Gage has the only jersey piece that even hints at being multi-colored. The saving grace is that these are the Titans best four offensive players on the card and it's numbered out of /50.

Autographed Cards;

2010 Panini Absolute Memorabilia Football offers two autographed cards per box. The same basic rookie design with an autograph and the popular RPM autographed memorabilia. The clear stickers allow for an almost oncard like appearance. Our pulls were of Riley Cooper of the Eagles /299 and Ron Gronkowski of the Patriots /299 (RPM). The The Cooper autograph runs off of the sticker a bit near the end of his name; while the Gronkowski auto is a very nice quality autograph. The Gronkowski has a tad bit of damage at the top part of the F in the foil itself. Definitely would be a replacement candidate if the box was purchased.

Final Thoughts on 2010 Panini Absolute Memorabilia Football;

Our box of 2010 Absolute was a standard break with meeting the odds. The autographs would have been very good had the Gronkowski not had the damage it has. I would liked to have seen more SP parallels in the box. We only had the Marshall spectrum /50 and I would have expected more in this box. The Portis is a nice quality 3 colored memorabilia piece /50. But, the Titans Quad memorabilia card was dissappointing to me. I would liked to have seen more 2 or 3 colored pieces out of the 4 memorabilia swatches. If it's a /50 give it some multi-colored patches is all I'm saying.

These boxes can usually be had for between $93 and $149 on most sites that I have checked. The $93 was on ebay and was a great buy at that price point, as they usually go around $115 - $125.

Here's how I would rate this product, based on what we experienced during the break;
  • Value = 4
  • Innovation = 4
  • Fun and Experience = 5
  • Rebuy Value = 3
I rate this product a "B" for Panini!

Nice review, Bill.

The Portis is a sweet looking card (even though I still hold a grudge from the Bronco days).

And I ALWAYS love the RPMs...I just think they're a neat looking set. I'm glad to see that Panini recognizes this and doesn't tinker with the look of them too much.

Nice review. I think the base cards look pretty good but the inserts look sweet. I particularly like the Portis. Overall pretty solid offering.

Great review, and real nice work by Panini with the memorabilia cards. the Portis multi-color looks particularly good and blends the jersey into the card well.

Thanks for the review. I like the look of all the cards. The Portis is a really cool looking card. I also like the Titans quad jersey card as well. This looks like a nice set.

Nice cards. I agree that a quad card with multi-colored swatches will look sweet.
