TR 2010 Panini Prestige Football Review, TR Football Box Review myblues on USTREAM. Football

Here's what I pulled in our box of 2010 Panini Prestige.

Base Cards;

The 200 card base set features a glossy in action photo with the Prestige logo located in the upper left corner. The NFL team logo is displayed in the upper right corner, the NFL team name; player name and position are all located of the left side. The bottom of the card is accentuated with a faded finish that adds a nice touch to the overall design on the set. In our box we pulled 146 of the 200 cards in the set with no duplication or 73% of the complete set.

Inserts and Parallels;

This year’s release of prestige is loaded with insert sets and parallels. In our box we pulled several nice ones including the Driver and Clark black variations numbered to 10 and 25 respectively. Other inserts of note are 3 Miles Austin’s we pulled after last year’s breakout season he is featured in at least 3 of the insert sets.

Rookie Cards;

The rookie cards in this year’s release are horizontal with the NFL team logo in the right corner. The bottom right corner has the Prestige logo; rookie is noted in the middle and the player name and position is on the left side of the card. The majority of players are pictured in college uniforms there are also several draft versions which are short printed. In addition to the draft versions there are quite a few short printed rookies which will make completing the rookie set a challenge for set builders. In our box we pulled 25 of the 100 rookies with no duplicates or 25% of the rookie set. We did hit one of the draft variation short prints in Sam Bradford.

Game Used;

Our Game Used pulls were a Touchdown Sensations Randy Moss dual number piece number out of 250 and a Rookie Review Prime Materials Percy Harvin number out of 50. As you can see from the scan above we pulled an awesome 3 color patch that looks to be part of his number.

Autographs;

The autos we pulled in our box were both Draft Picks Right autographs. The Corey Wootten is numbered out of 799 and the Demaryius Thomas is number to 299. The draft pick rights autographs are similar to the base rookies with the exception of the green shading across the rookie bar and the draft picks rights notation.

Final Thoughts on 2010 Panini Prestige Football;

The release of 2010 Panini Prestige Football officially kicks off the 2010 Football collecting season. Panini Prestige is the first NFL licensed release of the season and will surely please football collectors. After a long off-season coupled with the excitement of the NFL draft Panini comes out another strong product to get hobby enthusiasts excited and back into collecting or set building.

Our box certainly did not disappoint. While we did not get that monster hit or huge pull I’d say we had above average pulls in all of our hits. We pulled 73% of the common base set with no duplication. On the inserts we pulled a nice selection of inserts and parallels with 2 cards numbered to 25 or less. The rookies offered a nice selection and we came away with the Sam Bradford draft variation short print. The game used offered big name hits and an outstanding prime patch. In addition to that we pulled 2 autographs and one was of the first WR taken in the draft. With all of our hits considered this was good break that was very enjoyable and feel Panini has to put together an excellent product to kick off the 2010 football collecting season.

Nice solid review. The Harvin patch is super.

Not a big fan of the horizontal style cards, but these look OK.
