Here's what we pulled in our box of 2009 SP Threads Football (Hobby):

Almost a complete 1-100 base set with a handful of duplicates. The colors are well balanced with team colors and gold trim. I especially like the mesh in the background of the base cards. The base cards satisfy!

Five rookie cards from the 101-200 set. Travis Beckum, Phil Loadholt, Jason Williams, Jairus Byrd, and Glen Coffee. These are horizontal and Look just as good as the base cards 1-100

One of the inserts above, a die-cut set of 100, in which we pulled; Desean Jackson, Brady Quinn, Marion Barber III, Steve Slaton, Ernie Sims, and Terry Bradshaw. The young stars mixed with a HOF'er was great. This is a 100 card insert set and I would love to see who else is in this. The backs of these are sharp looking with team logo, and a brief paragraph with a career highlight. This insert set has a flaw though, as the cards are not all cut the same length.

This is a pretty standard looking basic memorabilia swatch from Matt Leinart. I'd like to have seen a player who has impacted the league, however as the other memorabilia cards top it so this is merely a bonus to the great hits below.

Two signed rookie lettermen! What luck as the box stated we would get one. These are shown larger so that you really can see the detail in the signatures and the serial numbers. Wow is all that I can say. The lettermen really in my opinion are the most fun cards to collect, this release doesn't let the collectors down. Look at the sequence numbers on those!

From an underrated WR in the league we pulled an Andre Johnson. A nice dual colored stitch swatch #/25. Only flaw is the sequence is not centered in the box, easily forgiven UD. These look good!

A three player, three swatch #/99. Another "WOW"

Final Thoughts on 2009 SP Threads Football (Hobby); I like that there is not an overwhelming amount of parallels and numbered parallels. The base cards are 1-100 and the rookies are short printed 101-200. There is no thick card stock except for the memorabilia and all cards are clean and crisp. This is a good looking product that should do well in the market. I would have liked to see more from the 101-200 future watch instead of 5 cards, because the base set produced 10 duplicates. The highlight is that we pulled 5 Memorabilia cards from seven different players!

Here's how I would rate this product;
Value = 5
Innovation = 4
Fun and Experience = 4
Rebuy Value = 5
I rate this product an "A" for Upper Deck!

All hits from this break will be going out in a Super Bowl contest. Stay tuned for that in late January. Base cards will be available through a separate thread in the football set-building area.
