Question about a card I just pulled

I bought a pack of Topps DPP 2007 and got a #d refractor of Jay Cutler. But it says it is a rookie....he was a rookie in 2006 and nowhere on the card does it say throwback or anything, and it does not have his 2006 stats, it also says in the small print on the bottom that it is 2007. If you didnt know Cutler was a rookie in 2006 you would think its a rookie. Is this just a normal insert in the set, or is it an error card?

They inserted some non-auto'd versions of 2006 auto'd RCs into the 07 stuff. Not sure if Cutler was one of the autos but this is probably what you have, I have a Vince Young like it.

I know they did it with Bush, Leinart, and Young - it's considered an insert. Also known as Topps at its cheapest in the design department.

i dont know about cheapest in the design department..Probably just making up for a "mistake" from last year, like why not drop some regular base cards of the top rookies rather than just hoping for the rare auto pull..
