Core Group - Break Suggestions
Hey guys, I think we should start discussing possible products for the next group break, and first for the core group that we set up. Since the draft is still over a month away, we should probably stick to 08 or 09 products. I always enjoy Gridiron Gear, but we can do a mix-and-match if y'all want. Please post your suggections, and we'll see if we can put something together that will score us some great hits while also being economical. Thanks.

Looking at about $74/spot with that.

The older we go the cheaper the boxes are going to be. I was looking at a 24 box master case of 06 LCM over the weekend that was 56 hits for around $40 a slot. That was a weekend sale price and is now gone.
If we go with boxes I like 08 Bowman Sterling that's 18 hits and usually goes around $200. Gridiron Gear is more affordable but 3 hits. Or 08 SP Rookie Threads runs $193 and has 8 hits. 08 SPx $115 for 10 hits. Could probably do a combination of those for around $30 a slot.
An SPx case is going to go over $1000 and would be priced around the SPa break. I would focus on the older stuff until the 2010 products drop and the 09 prices fall. JMO

I think the '08 SPx case will be a little pricey, probably btw $70-80 per spot for 16 participants. how about a combo such as:
2 boxes 09 Gridiron Gear $155.90 (6 total hits)
1 box 09 Playoff Contenders $101.95 (4 total hits)
2 boxes 08 SPx $231.98 (20 total hits)
I think this would run a little over $30 per spot. Adjust as needed, but this was just for figuring out the price range. Basically, $500 worth of products is around $32 per spot, $750 worth is around $47 per spot (all based on 16 spots).

we probably do not want to go older than 08 so we don't get the dreaded expired redemption...

Agree but Panini is the only company still honoring them. Would not go that old on UD or Topps but Panini has been really solid from what I've seen.

I'd probably stay away from Contenders hits / vrs cost. For a group our size I'd look at Sterling, SPx, SP Rookie Threads etc. Also might help to be ready to jump on a weekend special. We would have to agree on the product and be prepared to pay quickly to get our order in. Could probably do 2 Sterlings for around $30 a slot ( I think) or maybe 2 and 1 GG 09 for $35ish.

I think we could do that in our price range and the number of hits would be similar to our last break. I thought that was a good value. We can leave it open for discussion. See what other suggestions we get.
Thanks
