Raiders keep Fargas after 1,000-yard season:
Bringing back Fargas had been a priority this offseason for the Raiders. He is coming off a 1,000-yard rushing performance last season despite starting only seven games.

Fargas began the year as the backup to LaMont Jordan but was inserted into the starting lineup in Week 9. He posted three 100-yard games and averaged 96.8 yards per game rushing over the next seven games before sitting out the final two games of the season with an injured right knee.

Hall of Famer Lofton joins Raiders staff as receivers coach:
Lofton officially joined the Oakland Raiders coaching staff on Wednesday, taking over as the team's new receivers coach.

Defensive coordinator Ryan staying on with Raiders:
Rob Ryan apparently will keep his job as the Oakland Raiders' defensive coordinator despite recent reports that he would be fired following a disappointing season.

Sapp tells Raiders he's retiring, ending stellar career:
Warren Sapp announced his retirement on Thursday, ending the career of one of the best defensive tackles to play in the NFL.

The Raiders re-signed defensive lineman Tommy Kelly to a seven-year contract that reportedly could be worth more than $50 million, 02/28/2008
Kelly, coming off reconstructive knee surgery, was set to become an unrestricted free agent on Friday. But the Raiders pre-empted that with a lucrative contract that guarantees Kelly more than $18 million.

Keeping Kelly was an offseason priority for Oakland after defensive tackle Warren Sapp retired. Kelly was the team's most consistent defensive lineman last season before sustaining the season-ending knee injury Oct. 28 against Tennessee. Kelly finished last season with 27 solo tackles, one sack and a blocked kick that helped seal Oakland's first win of the season. He has 13 sacks in four seasons in the NFL.
