Group Breaks

Do they run group breaks on TR any more? I used to participate in them all the time, but was out of collecting for about a year. Is there enough interest to have them occasionally? I would be interested in doing some as long as the costs per entry are in the $20-$30 range.

They pretty much died shortly after you left. We've tried 3 or 4 since then but haven't had any luck filling them. We'd be up for running them again if there is enough interest.

Some sites are now doing drafts instead of strictly team. How would that work out?

I haven't seen anything on the drafts. Is that where all the hits are listed, and a draft order is randomized? That could be interesting. Maybe make it a snaking draft.

A few different ways to draft. You could random slots and draft all of the hits or you could random slots and assign hits as they come out or you can put hits and slots in the randomizer and match them up that way.

Blowout and Atlanta have Contenders priced @ $1700 for a 12 box case. That would break down to 16 slots at around $110 each. Would be looking at on average 48 hits so for a draft you would get 3 autos per slot which is a bit steep. Just throwing it out there for you.

Or you could go 8 ways @ a little under $220 a slot and go by division / by draft. Random 8 slots and each participant can draft a division and get every card for that division.

Or back to Bru's idea of a smaller break. You can get an 8 box case of Certified for around $640 roughly $44 a slot for 16 slots. Would be 32 Auto / GU hits and either draft teams or hits. Doesn't have to be Certified just throwing cases / mini case out there for the odds of hitting something nice.

Just floating ideas out there - will run and record it if there is enough interest.

Can we get that Certified and be part of their NCAA March Madness bracket again?

That worked out great for us last year...go Michigan State!!!

I'd be in for the Certified (that's more my price range)...but I'd rather draft teams.
