07-08 SPGU designs
what do you think ??
I personally like SPGU (03-04 , 04-05 , part of 05-06 & 06-07) but after looked at some of the cards in ebay, I think that I will not open any for this year...it sucks
The design has no good , also the selling point for SPGU auto is that they are limited (at least 100s) even for commons, but for 07-08 the common Significance has no no.s !! How come ?? I understood their ratio has been dropped to 2 cards (auto or jersey or patch) per pack , but the price increased also (from HKD2xx to HKD3xx, which is around USD2x+ raised to USD3x+) But the product become worst
I hate UD , they are not consern mid-level collectors anymore , they only ask for money , even the UD exquisite has poor quality control !! Then who they care about ?? They only love themselves....I am so missing for Fleer

Yes , Brave
I missed Fleer is that their design is ok , also some nice cards / photos (like the 3-D Hot numbers / foiled inserts ; autos etc) They bankrupt due to Poor Management (like the trash redemption programme) But at least they hv some nice cards design .....also Fleer (before they hv a the mess happened) , their customer service helps (at least they concered)
I have a friend who hv got a V.Carter redemption auto jersey (00-01 or 01-02) in which its only opened to US & Canada only, when my friend called them, they hv a special arrangement (One off) to send to Hong Kong, also the card serial is 01/25 !!
Fleer is more flexiable & more care about their customer , I have a redmption card (for my friend) Sam Cassell 05-06 SP Sign Edition auto , they stated hv send to me but NEVER arrived .... I have send numerous email to them BUT no exact reply ....it sucks !!

I have to agree that I don't like the new Upper-Deck selling method - less packs, more "hits" (more jsy and autos), higher prices.
They are lowering their production costs and raising the price - simply enhancing their profit margins that way on the back of the customers. They are company and need to think about profits, but instead of making this hobby cheaper and open it to more kids, they are raising prices and driving the mid-end collectors as well from the hobby....
BTW, they are inserting more "value" to each pack, but so many scrub autos in their products doesn't upgrade the value to us collectors - we're paying more to get a Von-Waffer auto...

Dont know about the customer service aspect of Fleer. I had better dealings with UD and Topps but thats just one person. As for the design, all companies have had their highlights and down points. My favorite set of all time is the 01-02 Upper Deck Legends Fiorentino Collection Autos, followed by Fleer's GOTG 01-02 Coach's Corner Autos

Yes I agreed....
Its only a hobby , But UD seemed it is now moving to a "commerical activities" for the small group of Rich.....
When I first start collecting NBA cards , it was 1992
The FIRST pack I opened is 1992 Upper Deck (not remembered High or Low series) which hv Shaq RC ....not too much inserts , mostly are base cards with NICE pictures
It's fun to open packs with friends to share a box which we can share the joy & exchange (even for common cards)
Nowadays , even though u opened the entired case u might bring a brunch of Rubbish & Anger to home, which is not worth ......
Even though you hv got a M.J. or L.J. Auto , u still hv no excitment & still loss .....unless u got the card in ONE PACK which seemed impossible , how come COMMON players can have so many auto / rare cards ?? I dont think that J.Graham / Raja Bell / S.Swift can be considered as Stars & honoured to get signed .....
The point of "Loss" not only in terms of financial (as only UD Exquisite base card will have market / someone like to collect) , it also involved of losing fun to trade .....trading is become harder & harder nowadays as all collectors need to sell the Good cards to cover the Loss (in terms of money) that means more collectors are prefered to sell ....I certainly understood that NOONE will trade Kobe for common players / semi star (but I still get offered like getting my Kobe auto by Mutombo auto + Rip auto) but most of the good cards are moved to Ebay or sell only column

the brand new UD SP Legendary Cuts is awesome, WAAAAY better than 2006's design. and kinda like the SP Rookie Edition, how they took 4 older sets and revamped them, made some auto/parallels.... cool idea.
