Contest, for who can figure this out?

I went to a Harlem Globetrotters game tonight. I could gotten a lot of auto's of the team, but someone was there. Some former Globetrotter that played in 1949 was there watching the game. I was being dumb and never listened to the name. My friend and I got his autograph after waiting 30 min just to persuade his grandson to let us ask for his autograph. He was one of the people from the legacy of the 50's. If you can figure out who's autograph this is, I'll give a prize to the first one gives me the write name. Prize will be worth over 15.00. Thats all I can say for the prize.

auto is below. Also this guy is at least in his 60's or 70's.

Looks like it says "Chip Burell"
It's be funny if he was nicknamed "Potato Chip" or "Lays-up"

I don't know, he's pretty old. His wife had to help him walk out on the court, with his cane. Hands won. PM you're addy, I'll get back to you later. I'll be out of town for 2 days.
