Yep, I came here to post this bit of breaking news before going to work, but it looks like you beat me to it. It's such an easy thing to do in a basketball game...call a couple of fouls early on a star so he has to sit most of the first half. Give him his third right before halftime, and the entire game has changed with nothing seeming out of the ordinary. Or, if your team needs a few extra points at the end of a game to cover a spread, send some guys to the free throw line to push them over the top.
If it comes out that Donaghy (who officiated games in the Spurs/Suns series this year) had a hand in fixing or point shaving in any playoff games, this could be one of the worst black eyes for any sport in recent history. It will all depend on how slow of a news week it is, and how far the media decides to run with the story. Should be interesting..
