Default PJ Carlesimo signed as new Sonics Head Coach

What do you guys think of the signing of Carlesimo to the Sonics? I think PJ knows how to win (was Spurs assistant past few years) and since he's good at relating to younger guys (was a college coach), it will really benefit the Sonics.

I thought p.j was going to be a good coach in golden state back in 1997. He had just left portland who was always in the playoffs. Well it didn't really work out whith P.j and DA MAN Spree. Anyways I like it. I hope he can relate better with his players this time around. Hes got Durant so things look up in seattle.

I am not sure on this but atleast P.J. was coaching the NBA the past several years as a ASST in Dallas.

What is Spree up to these days? I grew up about an hour from where he did so have always followed his career.

Default Spree

I too grew up about an hour north of spree in wi. He's been out of the league for 2 years now and shows no sign of returning. Hes a very private guy, wasnt flashy of the court, didnt do many interviews, he preffered not having people know his every move. ESPN sent a reporter to his pad about a year ago and spree wouldn't say much besides get outta hear. Spree's agent thinks hes been so quiet the last two years because of the way things ended in minnesota. He took alot of crap for saying he wouldnt play for like 6 mil a year. Its easy to bash him for that but you need to know he was making about 12 mil prior to that so he wouldve been taking a huge paycut. Anyways thats the latest.
P.J has been an assistant in san antonio the last several years.

Well, maybe it's because he said, "He needed to feed his family and needed more money" by ONLY getting 6 million a year. He was sorta on the downside of his career too.
