L.A. trying to land KG
It has been reported that the Lakers were close to acquiring Kevin Garnett in a four team trade that included Indiana and Boston.Minnesota was to get Jermaine O'Neal and Boston's 1st RD pick(#5 overall). And the Pacers were to get Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum. However, the deal was nixed,as the Celtics weren't happy with their end of the deal(no word on what they were to receive).
The Lakers and Timberwolves are now discussing a deal between just the two teams

If Minnesota is going to trade Garnett, they should do it now while they can still get value for him.I would want more than Bynum and Odom though.Maybe if they included Jordan Farmar in the deal...

The one I heard had O'Neal going to Boston and Boston had to give up Al Jefferson to Minnesota along with the #5... too much to give up for him.

Yeah I was thinking they would get a PG in the deal also, and yeah if they dont get rid of garnett now he is most def. gonna opt out after the season, or at least I would think he would be smart enough to get out while he can this time around....

Boston was givin up Al Jefferson and the #5 pick for O'neal basically....I think thats not what they need...but if atlanta takes their spot and throws the #3 in there and get JO and keep the #11 and get Acie Law like they said....that might work out better for them...but thats a far strecth..but yeah if LAL throws in Farmar or the #19 it could work also.

Appears this one is dead, Phoenix looks like the new possibility for KG. I would rather keep amare than sign KG, the man isnt getting any younger that is for sure...he is a more complete player now than Amare of course, thats a tough one I think.

Suns wont give up Amare they said, so thats done, and they are trying to give Marion to the bobcats for thier first round pick....its now or never for Min to get rid of KG, and he only wants to go to LA or the suns so something could happen today.
