Cubs give Zambrano $91.5 million deal
He could make more than $110 million!
Carlos Zambrano's long wait paid off. The Chicago Cubs' talented and emotional ace agreed Friday to a $91.5 million, five-year contract extension that features a 2013 option that could make the deal worth $110.75 million over six seasons. |

They had to pay him...they lost some good players in the past by not paying em---some guy named Greg Maddux comes to mind. Lot of dough to tie up into one player but with signing Soriano and bringing in proven coach in Pinella I think the Cubs are saying they are ready to compete in the NL Central.
